Went to American Consul for visa then took bus to Strand. No letters for anyone, accident in Colombo, boat held up for a week. Came back; the Halls, McCabe & Robin’s all had tea in my room.

Went to see “Garden of Allah”. Marie [Marlene] Dietrich then took bus to Strand Palace where Robin & I sat all the afternoon, had tea there also.

Mrs Robinson & I had lunch in my room, then left for Hampstead Heath. Got there about 12.30. Saw all that was to be seen, got back at 5, had an early tea, then took boat from Westminster Bridge for Greenwich, packed, down the River Thames. Got back at 9.30 then we went to Lyons Corner House, the Strand, for supper. Molly, Dorothy, Mrs R and myself.

Went to morning service to Christ Church, Woban [Woburn] Square WC1 with Mrs Robinson. Stayed to communion service, back to dinner, rested until 4, then made tea, and went to St James Park. Back again by bus at 6. Molly & Mrs Robinson, came into my room, and I supplied the tea and cakes from Lyons – had an early night.

Rested all day.
Went to Strand Palace for lunch. Fred, Mabel, Phil & I then sat in the bedroom until 4.30 when I left to come home. Went to bed early.

Just rested all day
Fred and Mabel came along at 1.30. Made tea for them, we just yarned all the afternoon. Made tea again at 3.30 Fred went over and got some sandwiches. They left at 5.30 to catch the bus. Fred has passed his car back as they leave on Monday for Germany.
