Thirza Pidgeon’s 1937 World Tour – 4 July: Return to Bo’ness through the Trossachs and Lake country

Sunday, 4 July 1937

Rather rainy, left for a lovely drive over the hills, some covered with heather. Left Dunkeld about 10, through Aberfeldy. Loch Tay, a beautiful lake 20 miles long, Loch Earn, Lochs Lubnaig, Venachar, Katrine, Archray to Killearn, Lochearnhead. Callander for lunch, then to the Trossachs – had a walk around the scenery was marvellous, hills everywhere and falls. Through wonderful country, Aberfoyle on to Fintry, where we had tea there to Falkirk and on to Bo’ness. Got back about 9, a lovely weekend, enjoyed every bit of it.
