Went to Australia House found no letters disappointed had none for 3 weeks – met Mr & Mrs Spriggins stayed with them all day – left them at 5 came home had dinner, Mrs Cantor & I went to pictures, then Strand Palace, for an orange drink.

Tuesday, 8 June 1937
Lovely day went with Mrs Everett frock hunting. Had lunch then to Overseas Club – special cars for Eton College. Lovely drive, very big crowd there. Went all over the place. Lovely afternoon tea, then lovely drive back in time for very late dinner about 8.30 – Mrs Webb came down & we played bridge in the bedroom until after 12 – then walked with her to the bus but she took a taxi back to Strand Palace.

Went to Australia House for letters, got one from Mrs Webb – so called up to the Strand Palace to see her – all had lunch together. We all went to Drury Lane theatre to see Careless Rapture – a very good show – Ivor Novello very good actor, wrote the play as well. Walked home.
